Frequently asked questions

We understand that adopting, fostering, and getting involved with our rescue comes with questions. Below, you'll find answers to some of the most common inquiries we receive.
How do I adopt a cat from Kittyland Love Rescue?
Adopting from us is easy! Start by browsing our available cats on the Adoption Page. Once you find a cat you're interested in, fill out our online adoption application. After reviewing your application, we’ll schedule a meet-and-greet to ensure the cat is a perfect fit for your home. If all goes well, the adoption can be finalized with a signed agreement, and you can take your new family member home.
What is the cost of adopting a cat?
Our adoption fee varies based on the age and needs of the cat. Typically, the fee ranges from $75 to $150, which helps cover the cost of spaying/neutering, vaccinations, and medical care. The adoption fee is a small investment for ensuring the cat is healthy and ready to thrive in their new home.
Everything You Need to Know About Our Rescue and Services
Can I adopt more than one cat at a time?
Yes! In fact, adopting two cats can be beneficial for both you and the animals, as it provides them companionship, especially if you’re away for extended periods. If you're interested in adopting more than one cat, we encourage you to mention it in your application, and we can help you find a pair of bonded cats or cats that get along well together.
What is the process to become a foster parent?
To become a foster parent, you will need to fill out a foster application, attend an orientation session, and complete a home preparation checklist. Once approved, we will match you with a cat that fits your home environment and experience. Fostering can last anywhere from a few weeks to several months, depending on the cat’s needs and the time it takes to find them a permanent home.
Does Kittyland Love Rescue cover the costs for foster cats?
Yes! As a foster parent, you won’t have to worry about expenses. We cover all veterinary care, food, litter, and supplies while the cat is in your care. We also provide ongoing support throughout the foster period to ensure you have everything you need to take care of the foster cat.
How does Kittyland Love Rescue ensure the health of its cats?
All cats in our care receive a full veterinary exam, are spayed/neutered, and are vaccinated before being placed for adoption. We also provide treatment for any medical issues they may have. Our goal is to ensure that every cat is healthy and ready for their new home.

What is Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR)?
TNR is a humane method used to manage and control feral cat populations. It involves trapping feral cats, having them spayed or neutered, and then returning them to their original environment. This prevents further reproduction while allowing the cats to live out their lives in their natural habitat. TNR improves the health of the cats and reduces nuisance behaviors like fighting and spraying.
How do I get involved in TNR efforts?
We are always looking for volunteers to help with TNR. You can assist by setting humane traps, transporting cats to vet appointments, and providing post-surgery care. If you're interested in getting involved, reach out to us through our Contact Page for more information on how to join our TNR team.
What do I need to bring when adopting a cat?
  • When you come to finalize your adoption, please bring:

  • A cat carrier for safe transport
  • A valid ID with your current address
  • Adoption fee (payment options include cash, credit, or check)
Can I sponsor a specific cat at Kittyland Love Rescue?
Absolutely! If you're unable to adopt or foster but want to help a specific cat, you can sponsor their care. Sponsorship donations go toward the cat's medical treatment, food, and other essentials while they wait for their forever home. You’ll receive updates and photos of the cat you sponsor.
What is the return policy if the adoption doesn’t work out?
While we hope every adoption is a success, we understand that sometimes things don’t go as planned. If for any reason you need to return the cat, we ask that you contact us immediately. We will work with you to ensure the cat is returned safely to our care. Please note that adoption fees are generally non-refundable but may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
How can I help if I can't foster or adopt?
  • There are many ways to support Kittyland Love Rescue without fostering or adopting:

  • Volunteer: Help us at adoption events, with administrative tasks, or in our TNR program.
  • Donate: Monetary donations help cover medical care, food, and supplies. Visit our Amazon Wishlist or GoFundMe
  • Spread the Word: Follow us on social media and share our posts to help us reach more potential adopters and supporters.
